Hi, I’m Ashley!

Welcome to Slightly Overcooked, a place where home-cooked meals are tested, tweaked, and sometimes slightly overcooked before they’re ever shared with you on this blog.
The name actually came from my husband, who noticed that when I’m developing a recipe, I rarely get it perfect on the first try. I’ll make it, adjust it, make it again, and sometimes accidentally leave it in the oven a little too long. But that’s part of the process. I keep testing until the recipe is simple, reliable, and worth making in your own kitchen.
Here, you’ll find recipes made for real life. No fancy ingredients, complicated techniques, or meals that require a culinary degree. Just comforting, approachable recipes that help you get a delicious dinner on the table.
Why I Started Slightly Overcooked
I’ve always loved cooking and trying new recipes, but I know how frustrating it can be when a recipe looks amazing online and doesn’t turn out the way you expected.
That’s why every recipe on Slightly Overcooked is made and tested in my own kitchen. If a recipe isn’t easy to follow, family-approved, and something I’d happily make again, it doesn’t get published.
My goal is to help home cooks feel confident in the kitchen by sharing recipes that actually work.
